Glenlossie Whisky

Glenlossie is a Speyside single malt distillery near Elgin, founded in 1876 by John Duff and a group of partners. It sits in the same distilling complex as Mannochmore, but has the longer history of the two, with a reputation built more on usefulness to blenders than on high-profile single malt releases.

Today Glenlossie is owned by Diageo and remains an active working distillery. Much of its output is destined for blended Scotch, where its clean, grassy and gently oily character provides texture and balance. As a single malt, official bottlings are limited, with the 10 Year Old in Diageo's Flora & Fauna range the best-known expression, while independent releases appear only occasionally.

The whisky is typically fresh, light and quietly textured, with notes of green apple, pear, lemon peel, cut grass, cereal, vanilla and soft spice. Its production setup includes purifier pipes on the stills, helping create a lighter spirit while retaining a subtle oiliness that gives Glenlossie more presence than its delicate profile might suggest.

Glenlossie is one of Speyside's understated blending malts: rarely pushed into the spotlight, but valued for the poise and texture it brings. When bottled on its own, it offers a clean, graceful style that rewards drinkers who enjoy the quieter details of Scotch whisky.
