Longrow is the heavily peated single malt made at Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown. The name comes from a lost Campbeltown distillery that once stood nearby, but the modern whisky is very much part of Springbank's own production, sitting alongside Springbank and Hazelburn as one of the distillery's three distinct single malt styles.

Springbank is owned by J. & A. Mitchell & Co., one of the few remaining family-owned Scotch whisky companies. Longrow is double distilled, more heavily peated than Springbank itself, and bottled on site, with the range led by Longrow Peated and supported by expressions such as Longrow Red, Longrow 18 Year Old and more occasional limited releases.

The whisky is smoky, oily and distinctly Campbeltown in character, with peat smoke, brine, malt, citrus peel, pepper, soot and earthy spice often balanced against sweeter notes of vanilla, orchard fruit and cask richness. Wine-cask and sherry-influenced releases can add darker fruit, leather, chocolate and tobacco, while retaining the rugged smoky backbone that defines the style.

Longrow offers peat with a different accent from Islay: less medicinal in the obvious sense, and more oily, coastal, earthy and old-fashioned. It is a whisky that shows the rougher, smokier side of Springbank's personality while remaining unmistakably rooted in Campbeltown's distinctive distilling tradition.
